What you're buying
The household emergency binder is a one-time purchase of $27 (US dollars, plus any sales tax shown at checkout). It is not a subscription. You get the binder builder, the printable binder and the phone version, built from your own answers. You can edit your answers and download the binder again whenever something changes.
How it's delivered
Right after checkout you're taken to the binder builder, and the binder is ready to print or save as a PDF when you finish. Payment is handled by Stripe; Stripe emails your receipt. The purchase unlocks the binder in the browser you checked out with. On another device, open the builder and enter the email you used at checkout to unlock it there too. Your answers are saved only on the device where you typed them.
Refunds
If the binder isn't right for your household, email help@myfortressplan.com within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. No questions asked. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days. A refunded purchase can no longer be restored on a new device.
Using the binder
The binder is for your own household's use. Print as many copies as you like and share them with your family, caregivers and emergency contacts. Please don't resell it or publish the templates.
Safety notes
The same notes appear in the free plan, the binder and the phone version:
- This is general preparedness information, not medical, electrical, legal or other professional advice.
- Follow instructions from local officials and emergency services. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
- Shut off gas only if you smell gas, hear it leaking or officials tell you to, and only the gas company should turn it back on. Shut off water or power only if you can reach them safely.
- Generators, fuel and fuel-burning heaters can cause carbon monoxide poisoning, fire and electrocution. Run generators outdoors, at least 20 feet from doors and windows, have a licensed electrician connect backup power to the house, and keep working CO alarms.
- Medication and medical details are for reference. Check with a doctor or pharmacist before changing how anyone takes a medication.
- Product suggestions, amounts and prices are estimates. Follow each manufacturer's instructions.
- You are responsible for keeping this information accurate and current, and for deciding what is safe for your household.
Safety and accuracy
The binder organizes information you provide plus general preparedness guidance. It is not professional, medical, electrical or legal advice, and it doesn't replace instructions from local officials. In an emergency, call 911. Check that the names, numbers, medications and locations you enter are correct and keep them up to date. See our disclosures for more.
Your responsibility
Preparing for emergencies involves real risks, including from fuel, heaters, generators, electrical work and evacuation. You decide what is safe for your household and assume the risks of the steps you choose to take. Use licensed professionals for electrical, gas and structural work, and follow local codes and permits.
Our liability
We provide the binder as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about it is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the version on this page applies to purchases made while it is posted. Questions: help@myfortressplan.com.
