Most preparedness advice is either a generic checklist or a sales pitch built on fear. My Fortress Plan does something narrower: it takes your actual household, with its kids, pets, home, needs, budget and the weather your area gets, and turns it into numbers you can act on and a schedule you can afford.
The goal
A household that can run for two weeks with no grid power, no store runs and no outside help, and that can get everyone, pets included, out the door in 15 minutes.
How we source things
- Safety guidance comes from official sources such as Ready.gov, FEMA, the National Weather Service and your county's emergency management office. We link to them on every page.
- Prices are approximate typical retail for budgeting, not quotes.
- Where a number is our own planning estimate, such as runtime hours or pet water, we say so.
